Inspiration from Perennials

Last week I received a very impressive oversize catalog from Perennials to promote their new outdoor fabric collection. Named “Camp Wannagetaway,” it featured Indian maidens in canoes full of cushions, mustachioed ginger hipsters floating on fabric covered inner tubes, and all manner of summer camp iconography. Was it the lavish format and photography? Was it the summer camp theme that runs so dear to my design aesthetic? Or was it the fact that we’re in mid-winter longing for green?

I’m not sure, but it certainly made an impression. This week I’m seeing stripes and longing for deep blue lakes shimmering in the sun, reflecting verdant green woods.
